Body gallery / MA exhibition

location - minato-ku, tokyo

In this exhibition, wall/surface typologies (essential forms of six projects) have here been sliced into fragments. Detached from program, texture, scale, and environment, these fragments of architecture have been arrayed to generate a new space for visitors. This exhibition is not confined to simulation and representation, but is a place for direct dialogue between body and form.

Sekii Matanity Clinic - clinic + private residence

location - Furukawa, Miyaqi prefecture

The site for this project adjoins a bypass with a high volume of traffic. In implementing a contemporary maternity hospital, a place furnished with rich spaces and services to enhance the experience of childbirth, it was necessary to use architectural devices for the creation of thin boundary elements that act as barriers between the building and the city. The methods adopted in this project all contribute to the production of boundaries without thickness in the form of architectural pleats, a design method that creates a visual distance from the city.

Miyagi Stadium

location - Rifu, Miyaqi prefecture

The stadium now has an institutional image completely opposite to its original character. In this project for an architectural typology with an essentially closed character, the aim was to propose an open place without losing any functionality.
The Miyagi Stadium fuses the contrasting topological conditions of the concave landscape of the stadium and the convex landscape of the mountains on the eastern side of the site. In this way, we intended to create a place that combines the dualities of open and closed, unified and dispersed, architecture and landscape.
